It is officially "Thirsty Thursday"; and there is no better way to get a head start to your weekend then with an excellent juice recipe. Juicing is an excellent way to get those daily fruit and vegetable servings in, and make it fun and delicious in the process. With the weekend approaching fast here, I want to kick off our first Thirsty Thursday with an awesome hangover cure juice for all that plan to be having some fun this weekend. This should help replenish some of the nutrients lost from drinking, as well as help with dehydration and detoxification of your liver.

So here it is party people....

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Apples (I use Gala, but any red apple should be fine)
  • 1 Beet
  • 8 - 10 Baby Carrots (Organic preferred)
  • 1 Lemon

Directions:

  • Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, use fruit and veggie wash if you have it to make sure all the wax and chemicals are off first.
  • Peel lemon and beets (optional, some people prefer to leave the peels on for additional nutritional value).
  • Add produce through the juicer one at a time

Additional Produce for Substitute:

  • Ginger (Great to settle the stomach after a night of drinking)
  • Turmeric
  • Mint
  • Orange (Can be used as a replacement for Lemon)
  • Celery  (Good add if you are really dehydrated, boosts the water content of the juice)

Have a safe and fun weekend, and remember to be responsible if you chose to drink!
